End of CLIMB 1: jam session

End of CLIMB 1: jam session

The Urban Leisure & Tourism Lab Amsterdam offers a lab track (elective module) every semester. A group of (international) students from different programs from within and outside the university will set to work to design a creative product in the field of tourism or leisure activities in order to transform the Buikslotermeerplein in Amsterdam Noord into a vibrant, attractive and safe place. They receive help from various partners from our learning community: teachers, researchers, network partners, residents and users.

CLIMB 1

Within the lab we work with Design Thinking in which students work in climbs, where they go through various process steps and literally climb upwards. In CLIMB 1, students are first introduced to a wicked problem, a complex issue for which there is no easy solution. It is up to our students to dive deeper into the problem! They do this by reading background information and asking questions to experts, residents and users of Buikslotermeerplein. By brainstorming, students together in their project team draw up the context, guidelines and requirements of the concept.

Jam session

The students will present the context, guidelines and requirements of the concept during jam session CLIMB 1 and collect feedback from the various network partners. Feedback from partners is very valuable!
